Help at the push of a button: Regional campaigns with long-lasting impact

Malteser is an international Catholic relief organization that provides aid to people in need, regardless of their religion, origin, or political beliefs.

In Germany, nearly 50,000 volunteers and around 31,000 full-time employees contribute to their efforts, making them a major employer in the healthcare and social services sectors.

For years, we are managing managed campaigns for the NRW state and regional offices, focusing on the Home Emergency Call service, which is trusted by over 100,000 people nationwide, providing help at the push of a button.

An overview of our collaboration

  • Since 2018, we have been planning and booking regional campaigns for Malteser.
  • The challenge for us and Malteser is to maximize visibility within two target audiences – seniors and their close relatives – in Germany’s most populous state.
  • We focus on media that not only quickly activate but also have a long-term impact, given that the decision to purchase a home emergency call system is typically a rational one.
  • We have successfully implemented campaigns across print, radio, (Digital) Out of Home, direct distribution and TV.

(Digital) Out of Home

For Malteser, we have executed multiple OOH campaigns. These included prominent billboards throughout the NRW state and regional offices’ action area, as well as side window posters on buses across public transport networks in major cities.

Digitally, we’ve successfully placed Malteser ads on digital screens in pharmacies, doctor’s offices, and on screens in several supermarket chains.

Radio

Depending on the specific campaign goals, we have implemented several tailored radio campaigns for Malteser over the past few years. Sometimes we planned a regional campaign on WDR2, while at other times we specifically targeted local radio stations in NRW.

Addressable TV

Addressable TV combines the advantages of traditional TV advertising with the targeting capabilities of online advertising and can be deployed regionally. In 2020, we introduced Malteser to TV using this method. The SwitchIn XXL banners were placed on channels from the RTL Group and SevenOne Media.
